Led by USCCA-certified instructors, this practical, hands-on course equips everyday concealed carriers with non-lethal force options that stop threats without firing a shot. Master pepper spray, tasers, impact tools, and empty-hand tactics through the USCCA’s real-world Protector Academy™ curriculum—perfect for de-escalation, legal compliance, and layered personal defense.
Course Purpose
Not every threat requires deadly force. Build confidence and control with tools that incapacitate, deter, and allow escape—while staying within the law and preserving life whenever possible.

Core Curriculum (USCCA Standards)
- Legal Continuum of Force – When less-lethal is justified vs. lethal
- Pepper Spray Mastery – OC types, deployment patterns, wind drift, decontamination
- Electronic Control Devices – Taser/CEW aim points, drive-stun, probe spread, legal carry
- Impact Tools – Kubotan, collapsible baton, flashlight strikes; grip and target zones
- Empty-Hand Defenses – Wrist releases, palm-heel strikes, knee drives, clinch control
- Draw & Transition Drills – From spray to handgun (or reverse) under stress
- Environmental Tactics – Use of distance, barriers, lighting, and verbal commands
- Aftermath Protocols – Calling 911, medical aid, evidence preservation, police statements
Live-Training Drills
- Inert Spray & Taser Scenarios – Marksmanship with laser trainers
- Force-on-Force Simulations – Airsoft/role-players in home, parking lot, elevator settings
- USCCA Less-Lethal Qualification – Timed deployment + accuracy standard
Format:
- 4–6 hours (1 hr classroom + 3–5 hrs hands-on & scenario range)
- Small ratio (max 8:1 student-to-instructor)
- All training devices provided (bring duty OC & taser if owned)
Certification Earned
- USCCA Less-Lethal Devices & Techniques Certificate (wallet card + digital badge)
- Qualifies for insurance riders and advanced USCCA pathways
Prerequisites:
- 18+ years old; no permit required
- Eye protection; note-taking materials
